Fry/Straka Global Golf Course Design, an award-winning golf course design partnership with worldwide reach, has been selected to design a comprehensive master plan for the Eagle Pointe Golf Club in Mont Belvieu, Texas.

Touted as “The Pride of Mont Belvieu”, Eagle Point Golf Club and its sister recreation facility attracts golfers and fitness enthusiasts from all over the Houston area. Fry/Straka’s goal is to deliver a master plan that matches the city’s tradition of providing exceptional recreational facilities.

The City is very excited about working with Fry and Straka to develop a master plan for the Eagle Pointe Golf Course. This is going to be a great step; bringing new life, fun, and playability to the course while making it more efficient and cost effective. – Nick Dixon, Mont Belvieu Mayor and avid golfer

We are honored to have been selected by the City of Mont Belvieu, Texas to design the Master Plan for their Eagle Pointe Golf Course.  The city has state-of-the-art amenities for its citizens and the surrounding communities, and the golf course should be no exception. We look forward to making Eagle Pointe THE place to play in the Greater Houston area. – Dana Fry and Jason Straka, Principals at Fry/Straka Global Golf Design

Elevation changes and rolling terrain make the vistas and golf shots at Eagle Pointe much different than at other golf courses in the surrounding Houston area. Cutting through the property are both Cherry Point Gully and Old River which bring character and shot value to several holes. A major focus of the master plan will include improving both surface and subsurface drainage. Trees will be thinned to improve sunlight and air movement and highlight the many specimen trees on the property. Putting green infrastructure will be updated, to include a newer generation of turfgrass, and the sand bunkers will undergo significant improvement.

Fry/Straka has engaged the golf community in the master plan process with the deployment of both a golf course survey and GPS data loggers. The master plan is scheduled to be complete in August of 2019.
